ADAPTATION OF DENTURES FABRICATED USING THERMOPLASTIC VERSUS CONVENTIONAL ACRYLIC TRAYS: AN IN-VITRO STUDY

Omar Mohamed Ismail, Nouran Abdel Nabi And Iman AbdelWahab,

ABSTRACT
In The Present In-vitro Study, A Total Of 20 Denture Bases Were Fabricated On A Single Model Using Two Different Impression Techniques (ten With Each Technique). In The First Group, Impressions Were Recorded Using A Single Step Impression Technique Employing Preliminary Impressions Using Alginate With Stock Metal Trays Followed By Special Tray Fabrication And Secondary Impression Making Using Condensation Silicone Impression Material. In The Second Group, A Single Step Impression Technique Was Carried Out Using Thermoplastic Impression Trays Carrying Condensation Silicone Impression Material. The Final Denture Bases Were Then Compared In Terms Of Adaptation On The Model Cast Using A Stereo Microscope. The First Group Of Dentures Showed Better Adaptation Than The Second Group.
